Which Big Brother Season will you enjoy the most? Season 3 or Season 4?
You will notice the differences between CBS' Big Brother Season 3 versus Season 4. Season's 4 was themed the X-Factor, as some of the houseguest were surprised to find themselves competing against their exes. We voted Season 3 as the best of the two. Our favorite houseguest of all time, Jason Guy, was on this season. It's nice to see a good-natured person on this reality show. His sweet ways shined throughout the episode.
Demeanor & Intellect:
Mostly wild and couple of faith-driven: The houseguests on Season 3 showed their wild side, especially the women. There is no surprise that this season's post-activity included three arrests and one Playgirl model. This was the first season that two houseguests had sex on the show. The two lovely houseguest were David Lane and Amanda Craig.
Typical money-driven individuals: The houseguests on Season 4 was focused on the money. It was cut-throat and full of drama. The addition of some of the houseguest's ex, made this a different type of season. Ironically two of the exes made it to the final few with their ex (Robert and Erica, and June and Jee).
Head of Household Intensity
HOH included and they were somewhat challenging. We wanted to see a little more intensity, as we found some of the contests too easy during Season 3.
HOH included.: The same sentiment as Season 3. We wanted more intensity during Season 4.
All of the evicted houseguests were judges and voted for the winner on Season 3.
Sequestered the jury for the first time and sent them to exotic or relaxing locations.
Also allowed the first 4 evicted to compete for the chance to return to the house. Amy returned after the houseguest voted between her and Eric returning.
Sequestered jury as well for Season 4.
Season 3 had lizards.
Season 4 had lizards.
Season 3 introduced the Golden Veto. The winner couldn't save themselves (imagine that), but could remove a nominated houseguest. All houseguest played the veto.
During the final Veto, the winner could use it to save themself (silly Marcellus :).
Season 4 also used the Golden Veto, and all the houseguests played for it.
During the Final 6, the veto was presented as an opportunity to take it, if you agree to place the other houseguests on peanut butter jelly for a period of time. Despite already holding the HOH title, Jee accepted the offer, and the houseguests voted him out the next week.
Both seasons had to use an old-fashioned ringer type of washer to wash clothes.
Season 3 - didn't show anyone smoking.
Season 4 did show a smoker, Jee.
We recently reported on Seasons 1 through 6, therefore, the updates included in the individual seasons themselves are recent. If you are interested in learning more about each individual houseguest from this All Stars season, click on their name.
By the way, Big Brother is based upon a Netherlands series with the same name. It's very interesting how we have developed reality tv shows by benchmarking other countries and vice-versa. When you have a chance, check out other series in other countries.
Consequently, including past houseguests during this season, made it a very hot season to watch! It included the likes of Kaysar Ridha, Janelle Pierzina, Howie Gordon, Will Kirby, and Mike "Boogie" Malin to name a few. I have three all-time favorites from Big Brother history, and Janelle is one of them. If you haven't checked out this season, it is worth it!
Mike "Boogie" Malin won this season. Unfortunately, Mike's reputation has taken a turn for the worst since the airing of the show. In 2007, he was allegedly arrested for allegedly assaulting a waitress at a sports bar in Denver. Tabloids have also indicated that there has been issues with alleged embezzling money and gambling away hundred of thousands of dollars and using it to pay for gay sex, travel and other stuff. As of 2018, it has been reported that he is allegedly in the hole for $800,000. Mike founded and operated The Dolce Group, a restaurant management group in Los Angeles. If you remember Season 2, he proposed to Krista Stegall, another houseguest. Their relationship didn't pan out. It is also reported that he has a son.
In conclusion, this season premiered in July of 2006, which is fourteen years ago! The recent updates that we provided during the contestant's original season is updated as of late 2019 through 2020. During the writing of this article, our country is facing the COVID-19 history. This pandemic appears to impact the airing of Big Brother for July 2020. If it does not air this year, it's a good time to take a walk down memory lane and remember what has occurred on previous seasons of Big Brother. #cbsbigbrother #afforci
Big Brother Season 4, which was filmed in 2003, included an X-Factor twist. All of the houseguests, except three, were surprised to find that they were scheduled to spend their summer with their exes. This cast included a total of thirteen guests.
It was a controversial season based upon the theme alone, but Big Brother wouldn't exist if drama didn't ensue. This season included: deceptive and manipulative gameplay to an extreme, even so much Julie Chen made a comment about it; a female houseguest who slept with the majority of the male houseguests; and racist remarks due to a nomination.
The houseguest list included: Scott Weintraub, Amanda Craig, Michelle Maradie, David Lane, Dana Varela, Nathan Marlow, Justin Giovinco, Jack Owens, Jr., Jee Choe, Erika Landin, Robert Roman, Alison Irwin and Jun Song. They were from across various regions of America, including two from the southeast; five from the northeast; two from the midwest; one from the southwest; one from the south; and of course, two from the Hollywood area (Los Angeles).
Jun Song was a 27 year old Investment Manager from New York City when she entered the home in 2003. While Jun and Alison was referred to as players who played a deceptive and manipulative game, in the end and despite her strategy, she won first place.
Her ex-boyfriend Jee Choe was also a houseguest as part of the X-Factor Twist. She was a member of Team Elite alliance, but she also worked with the Dream Team. Even though she was part of alliances, she wasn't liked by the majority of the house.
After winning first place, she appeared on the CBS sitcom, Yes Dear. She is also married, has a son and has moved to Belgium.
Alison Irwin was 22 years old in 2003. She was a Retail Sales Manager from Meadville, Pennsylvania. She finished in 2nd place on day 82.
Her ex-boyfriend, Justin Giovinco, was also a guest in the house as part of the twist. She was caught sharing the bed and kissing the majority of the male houseguests. Her main squeeze to sleep with was Nathan Marlow. She was a member of the Team Elite alliance.
The jury wasn't happy with her being a finalist, as they felt she played a deceptive and manipulative game. Julie Chen referred to her as "one of the most brutal players to play the game". She was one of two houseguests who was never nominated for eviction (through Season 5).
Alison was evicted in 2nd place. After the show, she appeared on the CBS sitcom, Yes Dear and also The Amazing Race in 2004. She started a family and married in 2011 to David Cobb.
Robert Roman was a 33 year old Restaurant Manager from Los Angeles during Season 4 of Big Brother. He has a daughter. His ex was Erica Landin. Robert cheated on Erica with her co-worker, and there was some controversy with this situation, as Erica allegedly played a role in getting her co-worker fired.
Robert referred to Jun and Allison using derogatory names after they were responsible for his allies, Jee and Justin's evictions.
He finished in 3rd place and was evicted on day 75. He appears to live a private life.
Erika Landin was a 33 year old Pilates Instructor from Los Angeles when she entered the BB house in 2003. Her ex-boyfriend, Robert Roman, was also a houseguest. She sparked some controversy when she reacted to Jee Choe's nomination of her by stating that he was "Fresh off the boat", and a "Korean piece of sh--". She was part of the Team Elite 8 members alliance. Later, she formed an all girls alliance with Jun Song and Alison Irwin. She finished in 4th place.
Erica Landin gained success after her reality tv appearance. She appeared in a movie, "The Scorned"; made an appearance in "Dance with Me"; and she appeared in numerous commercials. Jee Choe was a 23 year old Bookkeeper from Elhurst, New York. As part of the X-Factor twist, his ex Jun Song was another houseguest. He wasn't initially part of the cast, but was later selected after another houseguest on the list, Brandon Showalter, was removed from the list for contacting his girlfriend.
He formed an alliance with Justin Giovinco and Robert Roman, the Dream Team, aka as Three Stooges by the other houseguests. Erika Landin, allegedly used racist remarks towards Jee after he nominated her. Jee finished in 5th place, and was evicted on Day 61. It was reported that he married about five years ago. He lives and private life.
Jack Owens, Jr. was a former FBI agent from Birmingham, Alabama. Jack was 58 years old when he entered the house. He was the oldest to play the game through Season 9.
He was seen as a father figure by Erica Landin. He was nominated a few times, and was eventually evicted on Day 54 in 6th place.
He is an author and wrote a series about a serial killer. We found a twitter account that is related to him.
Justin Giovinco was a 22 year old Headhunter from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. As part of the twist for Big Brother Season 4, the ex-factor, his former girlfriend Alison Irwin was also a houseguest. He was considered a physical threat and immediately became a target. He had a showmance with Dana Varela.
He created a smaller alliance with two others, and a secret alliance with his ex, Alison. He was evicted on Day 47. According to his LinkedIn page, he is a Technical Recruiter at KeepTruckin.
Nathan Marlow was a 23 year old Personal Trainer from Edmund, Oklahoma. He was considered a physical threat, and many of the female houseguests found him attractive. He had a light showmance with Alison Irwin.
He won the first Head of Household competition. If you were in the Big Brother house would you throw it or go for broke trying to win the first competition? He was nominated for eviction by Alison's ex-boyfriend.
He was evicted in 8th place on Day 40. After the show he appeared on CBS sitcom, Yes Dear. He married Malin Wood Marlow in 2014. He is a Writer, Producer and Actor. Nathan has close to 20 movies or shows to his credit.
Dana Varela was 28 years old at the time of filming Season 4 of Big Brother. She was a Karate School Manager from Queens, New York. She was one out of only three who didn't have an ex enter the house during this season's twist. However, she did have a showmance with Justin Giovinco.
When she won Head of Household, she went against her alliance, Team Elite 8 with her nominations. This turned the majority of the house against her. Dana was evicted on day 33. She was the first member of the Jury.
David Lane, a former Army Ranger. He was 21 years old when he entered the Big Brother house during Season 4. David was the first male in Big Brother U.S. history to have sex in the Head of Household bedroom. During the first week, he had sex with Amanda Craig.
Why was David anxious to soil his loins? Did it have anything to do with his ex-girlfriend and fellow houseguest, Michelle Maradie? Who knows, but he created Big Brother history. He was evicted after his ex, Michelle. He was evicted on the 26th day. He appears to live a private life.
Michelle Maradie was 19 years old when she entered the Big Brother house in 2003. Her ex-boyfriend is David Lane, another houseguest.
The houseguests viewed Michelle as young and naive. She was also public about her virginity status. Out of the 82 days, she was evicted on day 19. After the show she appeared on CBS sitcom, Yes Dear. Since then she appears to live a relatively private life.
Scott Weintraub, 33 year old Waiter from Chicago at the time of filming in 2003. He was expelled Day 8. He went on a tirad because his ex-girlfriend, Amanda Craig, entered the house, as part of a twist. It was reported that Scott's removal from the house may be due to him having an undisclosed matter, however, this rumor was denied and CBS apparently states the reason as the tirad. Scott lives a private life.
Amanda Craig was a 25 year old Bar Manager from Chicago when she entered the Big Brother house in 2003 for Season 4. As part of a twist, she entered the home without her ex-boyfriend's knowledge. As a result, Scott Weintraub went on a tirad. He was expelled from the home. Amanda was the next out, and she was evicted on Day 12. Amanda lives a private life.
